Education centered in Christian values will be renewed as Guam’s Catholic schools swing open their doors this coming week.
Thousands of youth will converge to the Archdiocese of Agana’s 15 schools and pre-schools for the official start of School Year 2010-11.
The new year is already heralding exciting news and development for the Catholic community.
“We’re excited to have all the kids back to fill those halls with sounds and laughter,” said Rita Duenas, Principal of Bishop Baumgartner Memorial School, which begins classes Monday, August 9.
“It’s been quiet over the summer … so we’re excited,” said Duenas. “But most especially we’re excited about opening a new building.”
Bishop Baumgartner has marked rapid growth in the past four and five years which has included expansion and construction of new facilities. The school will hold a blessing and dedication of the Catherine McAuley Building 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 13.
